Though their prices are silly, i do think that the bridge city jointmaker is a really neat tool. Wish I could afford one!

Ah, so, but there are some things Bridge City makes that are unique (Centerscribe f.e.) , and well worth a premium price. And in some cases, a BCTW "upgrade" may be to a Starrett as a Stanley is to a 'no-name' hardware store model. [And I can't think how to adequately describe the pure pleasure of observing, holding, feeling, and using my CS-12/18. In this particular instance I agree completely. I might pay 15-20 bucks more for the fit-n-finish and added functionality of the BCTW unit, but no more. The Veritas does a very fine job (and I thought it was a tad overpriced when I bought it.
