Hi everyone.

I am pleased to say that I took the plunge... my new incra v120 miter gauge will be here on Thursday!

I went to use my miter gauge the other day and it will only hold trigger pressure one time. The next time you put a board under it and pull the handle, the rod slips and you lose all holding pressure. Then I have to reset it up again. Its a major pita.

I can't wait for my new miter gauge to come!

Thanks
Geo

Oops- isn't that trigger business locked with a standard (ss) allen screw? I'm thinkin the slippage thing should be fixable. I only ax because I got the whoozie that hooks up the V120 to the old SS gauge but only because it was on sale. However, soon after getting- and using- the V120 I missed the clamp function and put it on the V120.
If the clamp isn't fixable then there's nothin to do I guess, but you might find worth in finding out for sure.

Interesting failure. I guess you have something strange going on with your hold down. Any chance we could get a picture of the parts?

Did you order a new hold down with the 120?

Hi guys

Thanks for your help. Here is the old miter gauge that I've been using. I found out that the original miter gauge had the safety grip added to it as an upgrade. I know the PO was not a real detail oriented fellow, so I assume that's why it didn't have any washers under the main tightening knob. It also didn't have any washers between the safety grip and the miter gauge, which caused some side to side slop.

I did order the v120 with the safety grip...so now I'll have a shiny new one.:D

I will keep the old one around though. Would be nice to make it better...

Thanks
Geo
