Thanks for the comments! There is so much good info here. Tomorrow I will take a snapshot of and post pics of my service panel and my wiring.

We used to use "time delay" or "slow blow" fuses for stuff with a heavy starting load. They make the same thing in breakers these days. I cannot recall the exact terminology for them at the moment but have used a few of them in special locations.

Here is my service panel I wired. Going to "free up" a couple of spaces to add 2 220 circuits.

A quick check with Ms. Google tells me that they are still using the terms "time delay" and "slow blow" on breakers as well as fuses.
New terms pop all of the time. That doesn't mean I know them yet... :D

1) The feed wires appear to be small for a 100A sub panel.

2) There is only one available space.

3) Look into getting 'half size'/'double' breakers to replace some of the existing breakers. The panel may be designed to accept a limited number of them.
