Magazine pages. But not your woodworking magazines. Get your wife's latest issue of Cosmopolitan or People or some crap like that that nobody really cares about. The pages are glossy and slick so they won't absorb a ton of paint. Tear out a couple pages, roll them together in a tube, insert into the hole you don't want painted, let them expand to fill the hole. Paint away. Then express ignorance when she asks what happened to her latest issue of Good Housekeeping.

Good idea! I'll mask first but then I think this will help keep most of the spray from entering the various passages anyway. Besides, it's not like those copies of Good Housekeeping have been living up to their name anyway
