No, the hub/wheel. One must be careful where force is applied. No really good surface to attach a bearing puller/press to. I would make 'extra' parts to do this to insure the press/puller does not push/pull the wheel out of shape.

Thanks for the support, JPG. But, this ain't my first rodeo when it comes to bearings. I had a ton of fun changing out the blades on my jointer to the helix style and those were some difficult bearings to pull and re-install. I know to be especially careful with the aluminum wheel. I removed the wheel and re-packed the bearings with a little more grease yesterday and so far the squeal has not returned. Just in case I went ahead and ordered a set of bearings today. At least if it is a bad bearing after all I will have the replacement on hand. The bearings are cheap enough it's worth a try. So, if I break something I'll just have to go ahead, bite the bullet and order the assembly from SS.
