To ship from TX to CA via house mover, I built a crate similar to the one recommended in the SS PDF. It held the whole 510 including legs, main table, 2 floating tables and the extension table. The crate was framed in 2x2s and covered with 1/4" plywood. It had two hand holes in each end to facilitate man handling it. The movers called it "Grannie's coffin".

I suppose a lot would depend on Who is the carrier.
