AZ is a strange weather state. (Quirky in other ways, too.)
It snowed and inch in Tucson at about 1800-2000 ft, and here on the mesa at about 6500, we got maybe a 1/4".
Anybody know what "graupel" is. According to one of the PHX TV weather girls, graupel is what fell in PHX. Not snow, but graupel.

Hi Gene

I live in phoenix... although on the south side of town right by south mountain, so away from the graupel. I grew up in WI, where graupel did not exist. There, we called it SLEET.

Thank goodness it missed us at 1200 feet...if I ever get sick of snow and ice, I just open my non frost free freezer... hasn't happened yet! :D

Hi Geo,
Woke to 2" of snow, this AM. Of course we're at 6500' up here in the wilds. No graupel here, either.:D
We used to live about 50-60 mi. south of you, south of Florence. Left there in '96. Got too populated.;)

Our beaches are so white that when some visitors come, they think they see snow on the beach. Then they open a window or door and feel the warmth. It's a standard joke for snowbirds. They can't determine that there is no snow anywhere else around the area, but the beach looks like snow. Just had to rub it in. :D :D :D

I just love it when she says I can go make sawdust. ;) :D

Again this morning, when I logged on, there was a group of new members (about 10) all with the same "join date". All logged on together and then, equally curious (at least to me), they all seemed to log off together.

Forum status indicates that they are "registering". All at the same time??? This is as strange as sequestration.

You jest! I hope. Then again, you might be right on.

Think about what you have on your computer. Would you willingly share that information with everyone on the forum? Information like your family budget, complete with a list of all the financial accounts, charge accounts, insurance policies, etc.

Which one of these phantom loggers has an office in a big white building in China or somewhere in the Mexican Mafia's work shop.

Maybe we should start a thread on the building of a stealthy flux capacitor with a 5000 mile range and earth orbiting capacity.
Each of us could be assigned a task in the build. Dusty could build the quare, Reible, the framistat, Ed, the cloiviaster, and so on.
I'll take the simple job of the rheosplorkenlabber (death ray port).
Once all the jobs have been divvied up, we can see how many strange log ons we get.
Victory through confusion, trickery and obfuscation.:D
