This is the story of my life. I feel like I invented the frisby and the hula hoop and the batting t.
My first frisby was a lot like a 78rpm record. My brother and I used to throw them back and forth to one another. Problem was if you didn't catch it right, it hurt and if you didn't catch, it broke.
The hula hoop didn't come along until I had girls and it was made from a piece of plastic tubing from a fish tank. I made the hoop, the girls figured out how to use it.
Back to my much younger days. I had no one to pitch a baseball at me so I drove a stalk in the ground and tied a piece of radiator hose to it to hold the baseball. I had a lot of baseballs so I could take hitting practice and then go chase down all the balls.

Greetings all, am a new owner of a used 510 as well as a new member here. Just upgraded to the new casters , makes a big difference in ability to move my SS but still find I'd like to have more clearance between the ground and the base when the wheels are in the lowered position so that I can better clear all the uneven spots between my garage and the driveway. I move my machine outside when working. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

How far off the floor are the legs in the highest position? s/b 1/2".

Barely have 3/32", something a miss. I followed the template that came with the new wheels, guess I could try and drill a couple of new holes a 1/4" or so lower and give it a try. Back to the drawing board. Thanks for the reply JPG.
When I measure the hole placements of the old/new locations, measured when machine is at rest, I get 3.75" old lower hole and 7.75" old upper hole vs. 5.5" new lower and 9.75" new upper for 1 leg and 4" old lower and 8" old upper old vs. 6" and 10" new on the other 3 legs.
Can you or anybody else give hole locations in inches that should be from ground zero to the new drilled holes?

Future Project: I have purchased many sets of 3" X 1 3/8" width swivel casters each rated at 180 pd. weigh for less than the original 2" casters. I will have caster sets with metal template that you bolt on to the leg using the existing 2 bold holes with bolts included and use the 2 new holes to drill the leg. A proper drill bit is included, just need a electric drill. This template can be used for all 4 sets of casters. I will offer the complete free standing casters with the wide 3" wheels or can offer th 3" casters and caster assemby or just the 3" casters, all with drilling plate guide. I plan to instal a caster set on my personal Shopsmith first to insure proper operation and height. I plan to move the 3 legged kick bar inward at least an 1/2" to clear these casters. If successful, I will offer them on Ebay in the future
