Hi Dave,

What a discovery for me. That site just gave me the desire to have a scroll saw.
May be the Easter bunny will be good to me.

The person who thought the designs up is one smart cookie.
It's as easy as following the patterns.

The basket weave affect is done by cutting out 3 patterns, one of which is the reverse design of the other 2,then stacking them up on top of each other. It is much more simple than it looks.Once you download the patterns you will see just how ingenious the plans are.

The bunny basket only has 2 weave patterns that are identical.You just stagger the pattern. That one was the hardest to glue up because it didn't have much glueing surface between the weaves.I used 5 min epoxy for bonding the sections.
One tip I learned, as I went, was to glue the weaves together first. I put a dab of epoxy where the weaves meet and if you do each layer like that from one side, when you flip the glued up weaves over you can't see where they are glued because that part is now facing the bottom of the basket.

I had lots of fun making them and plan on making more.The best part was these were made from cut offs/scrap from other projects. There is not as much pressure when your working with scrap. I'm much more brave under those circumstances:D

If anyone makes these and has any ?s on the construction, I would be happy to answer them.

Here in Canada, Sears is selling the Genera scroll saw 21" on a stand for 1150$
the do not carry the craftman one.
No Lowes in my area.
Home Depot offers the Makita at 239$ 16 in.
I see a used Delta on classifieds (how much, it does not say) contacted the seller. There are many models in the Delta brand.
I am still looking.

For what it is worth, I have done some scroll saw work on the Shopsmith Jig Saw using a scroll saw blade. It took a little longer but it worked just fine.

I would be able to get a Delta 15 in scroll saw for 50$ it is used.
Do you think it is deep enough to do some nice work ?
