I searched the internet and asked a few forums if anyone knew of any papers or references to varying the frequency input to a 60 cycle motor. I never found any results of anyone actually testing for this frequency variation for a 60 cycle motor. I got a few responses that they did not believed it would work. I had noticed that the people operating the motor at 50 cycles had 10% less speed but no comment on the power. Another thing that 'happens' when running at a lower frequency(60 hz motor running on 50 hz) is it runs 'warmer'. I do not know if my dual voltage dual frequency Goldie motor is any different physically other than the extra wires etc, but it has a power rating reduced to 1 hp from 1 1/8 hp.
Hey reducing the frequency (on the surface) seems quite logical.
