Please explain. I am unaware of this up/down adjustability feature. The front and rear rails bolt onto the table with no adjustability other than tolerances between bolt hole size and bolt diameter.

If that is what you are meaning, no explanation needed.

It is! That be the reason for the 'gauge'.:)
