The plans (for the train - not the Mark .5) are available in the Hands-On Archives

According to the post headliner I think Dusty was referring to the heirloom train plans instead of the Mark.5.

No, bkhop. I am the one who is daft.

I started searching for the plans for the Mark .5 and along the way I found the train (which has also been featured on a Sawdust Session). :o At that point, I got side tracked - no pun intended.

Bottom line - I forgot what I had set out to find. The search will go on. Maybe Nick will enlighten us all with clarification of whether or not there are any plans available for the (Mark .5).

Ok, I had sent an email to shopsmith about the wooden shopsmith plan and if they knew anything about this,, aperently they do have it and they are sending it out to me in the mail, so if anyone is interested in that plan they do have it, I really hope it is what I am thinking it is that will be really nice to build and add to my collection,,,

Folks, Jim McCann and I designed and built the Shopsmith Mark .5 way back in 1979 for Hands On! #2 -- that's November/December 1979 Issue 2, Volume 1. The model we built nearly 40 years ago now sits atop my tool cabinet at the Webshop. You can get the plans for it in the archived Hands On! CDs.

With all good wishes,
