Many thanks for suggestions on Strip Sander. To Ed I am a klutz when it comes to sharpening and find stones a better solution. I seem to have trouble applying just the right amount of pressure and ruined a couple of belts. To all I apologize for the disappearing act. This summer seems filled with challenges. I have completed three new cabinets for our bathroom and then took care of a number of Honey Do's. The past couple of weeks have been devoted to a bottom up shop cleaning and a major reorganization of the shop layout. I now have the strip sander located where it is easily accessible and I plan to use it for a number of edge sanding applications as suggested in other replies. Thanks I do appreciate the ideas. Jim

That is nuts - they don't sell for much more than that new from SS when they are on sale. not a prayer I'd pay anywhere near that for an item on E-Bay when I could get it new from SS.

I got mine on E-Bay about 5-6 months ago for $150 BIN, including shipping - it is in pristine/seemingly unused condition and it included an accessory stand, which usually sell for way too much themselves on E-Bay. It had the manual but only had the curved platen, so I had to buy the other two from SS but when the dust settled I thought it was a good deal...anything >$200 when you can get it new from SS for $250-$275 is nuts, yet virtually all of them on E-Bay sell for that much.

The "Mounting Base" as it is formally known...I was surprised they threw it in with the Strip Sander when the box arrived but certainly didn't complain.
