That helps, you guys are great!. I have the double bearing knurled collar. I've already had the quill out the machine for cleaning, per Nicks directions in the saw dust session and I'm almost 100% sure I have a double bearing quill.
Went back tonight, and loosen the knob and then got it as tight against the quill bearing as I could. It seems better now, takes a fair amount of pull to get the shaft to move in and out. I think that I may be getting hyper-critical now.

Hi Gang;
With reference to post one and pic 3. I don't recall any saw arbors that I have having the flared collar behind the blade. All of my saw arbors are square shouldered on the quill side of the blade. Are you using a universal arbor instead of the proper saw arbor? In fact all of the other arbors that I have, universal and the dado arbor, are also square shouldered. Just an observation.

Here is what Bill has and it is the wrong arbor (too short) for the saw guard he is using. It is the arbor, not any collar, that is causing the interference. The early version of the 510/520 5/8" arbor looked just like Bill's arbor except it was longer.

If you have a new 510/520 5/8" saw arbor it probably looks like
this. A big hunk of metal....heavy!
