To answer truthfully - mortising with the OPR is very easy! As seen in the Sawdust session #4, when Nick made a few mortises, there is absolutely no forcing a chisel, no overlapping holes requiring cleanup. Just smooth sides at the exact diameter you routed.

If the mortise is a blind one there is no need to square the mortise slots - Just round off the ends of the tenons. For the thru tenons on my project, I squared the ends with a 3/8" chisel, as they were 3/8" wide slots. A fair quality chisel and a leather stropping block was all that was needed. Like slicing firm cold butter!

Anyone who has an OPR already knows there is absolutely no need for a mortising attachment.
