At this point I think you have to gain access to the start switch and determine with the multimeter whether the contacts are made. A simple approach is to determine that by checking resistance across the capacitor wires with the capacitor disconnected.(got that from the video:)) Had to think about that fer a second or five!59giants wrote:Yes I have a multi meter. If that determines the contacts are not making, you will still have to gain access to them to fix that.
One caveat! If the contacts are not made and you recently tried to start the motor, the capacitor may be holding a charge. Before touching the wires, short across the capacitor to discharge it. It MAY arc/pop.
Only one wire need be removed from the capacitor to check the switch(assuming there are only two wires.
