Yeah! The correct hardware is even better that writing a sentence that can be understood.

How 'bout this. - - For placing a shelf above the door, you can use metal shelf support brackets turned upside down. The shelf then hangs from the brackets rather than sitting on them.

It's best to use bolts to hold the shelf onto the bracket, rather than using wood screws.

I first saw this technique used above a garage door.

Lately, my shop time has been completely dominated by explaining and demonstrating stuff to my 14 year old son. Specifically, how to rebuild a radio-controlled airplane after a crash. Stuff that had I mastered (due to MANY repeated practice "opportunities") almost 40 years ago. The top layer in my dust deputy bucket is all Balsa wood and Monokote!

Surprisingly enough, my Shopsmith and SPT's, along with a vintage Stanley #92 shoulder plane, have been very useful in model airplane rebuilding.

Add 10% for looking in the floor debris for that which escaped from my hands.

Another 5% for getting 'another' since I could not find the original 'escapee'.
