I think we will share Rome's fate even without that tradition!

Good clip. We live in a republic and our form of government is a representative democracy. If the people who vote for a bill without having read it and they don't know what is in it, then they can not represent anyone.( you have to pass the bill before you can see what's in it) If there is no representation of the people then there is no representative democracy and any and all legislation passed as a result would therefore have to be considered as unconstitutional. Just one old guy's opinion.

Looking on the 'positive' side, we are living- experiencing- history, in the day-to-day continuing overthrow of a free representative democracy by a communist dictator and his regime.

This is not news to conservatives in Hawaii, of course. The state of Hawaii has never had other than Democrat-run government, meaning effectively no representation for real Americans.

I think the most egregious example of this loss of control and freedom came a few years ago when an open vote on a huge spending program was proposed and the then current mayor- it's chief proponent- was caught on video bombastically declaring "I will do everything in my power to stop a free vote on this (program)".

'Nuf said, there.

Since my opinions on this subject are admittedly quite biased (on the side of truth) I will refrain from opining further and instead offer an excellent resource widely acclaimed:

"Men in Black" by Mark Levin. "How the Supreme Court Is Destroying America".

Very interesting stuff. Did you know, for instance, that in Roe v Wade, the inventors of the "right" to kill babies knew what they were doing was unconstitutional, yet consciously chose to legalize infanticide as (their words) "population control"?

As a former resident of Kentucky I can guess that my former neighbors (owned a farm outside of Falmouth onct) would express astonishment at hearing they were Liberals (whether or no you could understand what they were saying).
