Just an update. repacked the bushing, lubed and waxed per 'sawdust session' and put all back together- that spring is fun! Fired up and sounds and runs great. Still can't start on high speed, so just make sure to run speed down before turning off. thanks for the help and advice on this forum.

Hi, in the process of putting new bearings in my Emerson tonight and accidentally blew out most of the cotton stuff...wear did you get the “wadding” and how saturated did you get it before reinstalling?

Thanks!

motor bearing felt, the felt can be replaced and in some instances you can find the oem pieces ready cut to fit .

So I removed all the old material that was in the bearing and got some pressed wool cord, which I cut up and stuff back in. Hopefully it works out well....

Replaced the 6203 bearing with a new one, however when I was putting the snap ring back in place, it broke! Anyone know the size or part number for this snap ring? My calipers measure the the area of the rotor where the snap ring rests is approximately 16mm
