I finished it with 3 coats of urethane. I like urethane because it is waterproof and durable.

A small space just behind my left ear (which, suspiciously, appears to be my whole head) has been trying to conjure up a name for this item, and I think it found a fair candidate.

"Cantique" kind of works. It holds the garbage "can", but it won't be an antique in my lifetime. Hopefully someone keeps it after I'm gone so it can maybe someday become "antique".
