I know I am new here by just a few hours, but have a nice sence of humor!!!!LOL Beeg, "knot" is what you use to tie up your boat or SO, "not" means the opposite!LOL!!!!!

WRONG forum, this isn't a boat forum,but a woodworking one. Knot's are in wood.

The serial number is located on the silver plate on the left hand end of the SS.

Seriously no.

The 'secondary' blade slot will not work with a 10" blade(at full depth). The blade will extend the slot for you!

That slot is intended for ripping widths not possible with the main or extension table. The fence does not bridge the gap between the tables well.

You will often see such use of 'wood' terms that sound like the more appropriate word. Knot is the most common!

Open it up today, found the Gilmer belt broken, I may have been lied to about the motor just humming, not much dust/dirt in there, vacuumed and blown out, I did find the main drive belt to be "set" in its elongated shape, I could feel that when I went to turn it manually. Plugged it in and it fired right up!
Now, thank the lord for this site and have watched the first 2 parts of the "rebuild", as long as I have to pull stuff to change the Gilmer belt should I, Da, change the v drive belt too? I am sure it is the original. If so, can I get that v belt some where else other then SS? What about the Gilmer belt,other options other then SS? I am figuring if yes to 1 or both they will be cheaper!!?? Any other info on this and other things I should do while changeing the belts please let me know.
Beeg, I guess I put my foot in my mouth up to my hip with the knot thing, but knots do measure distance over H2O and in the air!!!LOL I did the boat thing 20 years ago. Forgot to add cord has cracked outer insulation and is really cracked allot where in comes out of the motor housing and has a 90* bend there like it was just long enough and pulled tight. Is it a big deal to change it out? I would get bulk and make it longer, 10-14ft and use 12ga braided wire, not 14 that is probliby it now.

Just went to SS web sight for the belts, I must of mist something, exploded vew showed the v belt but not a gilmer belt, how do I get to that one?

The v-belt is no longer a commonly available size.

The exploded view is of current models.

An extension cord makes a nice replacement cord. Cut off the receptacle end. The internal wires can be 'salvaged' by taping or insulating tubing.

The lengths of the internal wires will not contribute much to voltage drop. #14 should be adequate.

You can find a Gilmer belt at a fair price on eBay.

Ya cutting an extension cord some times is cheaper then wiring bulk and buying the maile end!!! Is it hard to wire into the motor, or just 3 connections?
Ebay prices a just a couple dollars cheaper for the belts.
60* here today, about the 6th time above freezing this winter here, good day to finish cleaning/setting up the SS!!!
