Go for the sealed bearing and do not worry about any extra heat buildup. The bearing if the right size that Bill V discussed is a good bearing. I normally do not buy regular (motor) grade bearings if they are made in China, else where should be OK.rcplaneguy wrote:Thanks, Bill. I don't see where vxb.com rates these bearings as "ABEC". These are manufacturing standards for bearing internal clearances. Thanks for the reference as it explains the benefits of why I try to use higher grade ABEC bearings in all my repairs and rebuilds. Vxb.com delivered the new bearings very fast. I selected premium Nachi sealed bearings per Bill Mayo and Bill V. Perfect fit! Very easy to install, the quill is now smooth, silent, no rumbles. Thanks to all! The bearing numbers are 6002-2NSE and 6003-2NSE.
