Even as I typed it, I felt bad about being paranoid about the Russian web address. I was going to post something to the effect that I shouldn't have even said anything.
Then, I got an email purporting to be from the Post Office about a package they couldn't deliver to me. It instructed me to hit the button to print out a shipping label. This is the return address of the e-mail:
One Day Shipping <
information_id62@fiks-aksay.ru>
Who know what would've happened if I hit the button?

Y'all will have to tell me what I'm missing, no way I'm gonna d/l anything from a .ru domain unless it is really really really important.

Infiltrated by the Russians with My Help
With all of the concerned comments regarding the origin of this link, I regret that I even posted it and I have removed the links to it that I was able to remove.
I would suggest that others may want to do the same.
If it helps any, the file has been on my computer for quite some time with no adverse effects AND after all it is a Popular Woodworking Magazine document.

I do not think there is anything suspicious there.
If not, as I said previously it is a great resource.
If there is any shady activity, it is the creation of pdf files of copyrighted material.
I think y'all are being paranoid.
Tis wise to err on the side of caution, but, doing so can result in 'missing out'.
Face it, what harm can be inflicted with a pdf file?
Now if something comes with it your fears may be substantiated.
So 'use at your own risk'.

I was also probably copywritted by Popular Mechanics.
It seems like something they would sell as a hand book that has been pirated
