Odd, I know I've seen one as well. Perhaps it was a photo I'm remembering.

It wasn't Hans! No wonder I couldn't find it in my searches! I think I was getting the pic of Hans with the 1/2 scale 10E prototype and that picture jumbled together.

I will never cease to be amazed at how little it takes to get this forum "off on a tangent". Does everyone know how to start a thread with a new subject?

I think it's because many on this forum are creative and "free thinkers" who are not hampered by "rules" or anything resembling stodgy forum decorum.

It also forces me to read nearly everything for fear I might miss something earth shaking, mind blowing or heaven forbid "boring".

It also means that it is nearly impossible to perform a realistic, efficient search to find information previously posted here.

These are conversations. How many of face-to-face vocal versions of those stay strictly on topic? Only the boring ones.

A searchable repository of information? That would be a Wiki. This be a discussion forum. Tangents happen.

That is absolute true!!

However, for me, one of the benefits of a fruitless search is finding a thread I had not seen (before my joining the forum, perhaps) or re-reading and gleaning more information. Of course if anyone were ever to watch me surfing the internet (and I presume someone in some dark hidden room is!! ) they would be hard pressed to find out from whenst I started my journey, since I myself often can't!:o But then, for me, that's part of the fun!!

Yes, when I am in a hurry to find a thread, it can be VERY frustrating, because I remember parts of the thread but not necessarily the context of the original thread. I often incorrectly attribute who said what, so I search using the wrong contributor .

I've now taken to bookmarking a page of a thread with a meaningful (to me) tag line. I guess the next step is sub folders of various subjects but I think even those will cross reference.

Dusty, I am sorry that much of what I post contributes to your frustration in quickly and easily finding data. One of the reasons that I failed as a computer programmer (there were many), was because I choose convenience over structure. I was significantly better at explaining to an end user when to use a hammer versus a finger on the keyboard and various other idiosyncrasies regarding why computer software was not designed for the average normal human to understand nor use!

With the warmer weather I spend less time on this forum so jump in as the mood strikes. Often tugging and jerking the thread, i am certain to the chagrin of some (it might be many, but I'm giving myself the benefit of the doubt! ).

I will post less in an established thread and try (just try mind you) to keep it moving toward the direction of the thread. But even with this thread I've severely deviated!

As for everyone else on this forum... I'm not the boss of them!!
