Using the same logic as the Clinton's , I was so poor and broke when I finished college that I starved to death.
To raise some cash they could have sold some of the art work they made off with from the White House. Oh, wait, that was never " proven". And they don't have them any more because they donated them to the Clinton Library and wrote off the value.

Does she even know what a sentence is?
Exactly what crossed my mind. The Clintons — masters of the art of how to say absolutely nothing.

Dusty, THANK YOU for starting this!
I don't think "dead broke" is her financial status, but her "moral" status.

Sorry, did I wax "philosophical" there? Didn't mean to. (And, if you believe that, I've got stock in a BEAUTIFUL bridge, going from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Wanna buy some?)
OK, she was FLOTUS for 8 years.
After that, she was the junior Senator from New York. (Why, I don't know. She NEVER lived in New York!)
After that stint, she was SecState for 5 years.
And, in all that time, Bubba was giving speeches, at the tune of 250 LARGE each. (But, he was just her "husband" and those funds shouldn't be mingled.)
Yes, she is in debt, but not financially.
BUT, since the IRS determines these facts, we'll NEVER know.
(How did Lois Lerner's "hard drive" just happen to crash, at the PERFECT time? And, the IRS not have ANY back-ups? Really? Can I use that as an excuse, when tax time comes? Or is it just the collector, not the payee?)

As a died in the wool, confirmed and inveterate Constitutional Conservative, I'll decline to comment on this thread:rolleyes: ...except to say the woman in question is a lying, hypocritical, deceitful, phony.
Other than that, she's OK. But, for some reason, I can't bring myself to trust anything she says.

One doesn't need to dredge up silly conspiracy theories to note that Hillary's comments were tone-deaf. It's probably true that they were in debt when they left the White House. But, they also had huge earnings potential that was obvious at the time to all. Unlike Bill, Hillary comes from a fairly prosperous background and hasn't had to overcome a lot of disadvantages.
Nonetheless, good chance I'll be voting for her in '16.

You've made that decision without knowing who else is running as a Democrat or who else she might be running against????
That sounds a bit partisan to me.

I said, "most likely" not definitely. And that's just my current take given where we are in the horse race.
And mainly I was just trying to give context to my criticism of her.

Her comments (if they may be called comments) indicate that they were in possession of
a ton of property at the very least!
Unless she means she often didn’t have cash at hand to pop down to the local 7eleven I can’t imagine what she thinks broke is.

Little early to be dumping on her considering she hasn't even announced that she's running

If she does run, it most likely will be against one of our fine gentlemen from Texas. If you weren't ready for a Black president how will you be ready for a Woman president.
