where to get quality pen turning parts?

I agree with nuhobby regarding the Rockler and Woodcraft kits. I have turned a lot of pens from Penn State and have been completely satisfied with their customer service when I have had a problem even when the problem was my fault. I really like their bolt action pens. Just plain fun to operate it but probably not appropriate for your project. I have been very satisfied with Woodturningz. Even their own pen kits have turned out well. Very nice and unique acrylic blanks for pens and in larger sizes for handles like pizza cutters and ice cream scoops. Again good customer service and you'll get your order in just a few days. I have not tried the higher cost kits from other providers. Sometimes their specs for mandrels needed are not what I'm accustomed to. But that is just me.

I usually order my stuff from woodturnerz...just did yesterday. I only order slimline. I like the fast response from them... My local wood turners club in Tucson makes pens for the troops..in 2014. We made over 3,000 pens. Yup 3,000. All kits were given to us by woodcraft.
