I've never seen the sandpaper cutter posted here, but I'll put it on a list for potential Christmas/Birthday gifts. Family is always asking what to get me.

P.S. Also Shopsmith gift certificates are good. Just cashed in the $ from five of the left over certificates. Always good to zero them out! The gals don't have a problem verifying the amounts - the guy? - a little frustration, but he can handle it with a smile:rolleyes:

I bought a similar one years ago from Lee Valley as one of my first purchases and found it to be one of my best purchases. I'm not sure how much I paid, but with inflation, the Rockler price is probably OK.

I saw this as well in my last Rockler catalog. I had purchased a cutter 15 years ago from Klingspore. I thought this was a questionable purchase at the time, but I was always tearing my 8 x 11 sheets on the edge of my work bench. Inevitably one corner of my sheet would tear wrong and make it unusable on my sanding block.

It only cost about $10 at the time, but it has saved me time and sand paper. Paid for itself many times over, plus it is easy to use. Wouldn't be with out it.

Got the Rockler cutter and mounted on the backside of my shop door. Works like a charm and beats the other methods I have used over the years. Worked in the finish department of a body shop for 6 years and hobby working for over 30 so I have "halved" many a piece of sand paper.
