Ok, the advert does make it sound like it has some nice standard features that the Shopsmith lacks. Do folks who have experience with these in real life find that it translates into a better machine?
Btw, I'm really intrigued by the torsion spring lift assist that's built in. Love to see some pics/drawings of how they did that.

+1 on the torsion spring lift assist. Shopsmith should do this. I've never been a fan of anything that uses gas charged cylinders. They always leak down and have to be replaced. If designed and built properly an adjustable torsion spring lift assist should last a very long time. Adjustable is even better.
