Without seeing the front side of the headstock, I'm going to GUESS, Mark VII.
I don't see the exposed belts, but that lump by the lower pulley, looks like the fan unit on the MkVII.
The lower frame, I need to see more pictures.

One more guess.
Mark II on a different base?
Sorry, I don't see the 3 pulleys or the exposed belt. It's like nothing Model 10 I've ever seen. (With the exception of my little {kinda, he outweighs me by 50 pounds} brother's welded "bed frame rails" base.) But, we've since replaced that.

Mark II on a different base? Mark 5 "B" casting.
Sorry, I don't see the 3 pulleys or the exposed belt. 3 step cone pulley on both main and motor shaft, belt on the center step. It's like nothing Model 10 I've ever seen. (With the exception of my little {kinda, he outweighs me by 50 pounds} brother's welded "bed frame rails" base.) But, we've since replaced that.

'Dog house' obscures the motor pulley.
Vent plate has some extra screws.
Belt cover has extra screws towards the bottom.
Both end castings are stock top half of hinge base.
I am thinking a Mark 2 prototype maybe.

Can we get a picture of the other side of this Shopsmith? We need to see the speed control side. Maybe a picture from either end to see the base arms. Tjhanks.

Holy Moley!!!!
I was all prepared to regard this as someone’s hoax of a contraption being passed off as a prototype. Now here I have to understand that we may be being introduced some kind of
missing link ShopSmith.
(Of course the good news for me is that, this being perhaps the only one in existence, I won’t have to struggle with tamping down an urge to acquire one.)
