I got hooked on Popular Woodworking when I saw some articles on Roy Underhill. I think the articles are very easy to read. Since both Popular Woodworking and the American Woodworker were published by the same company, I was not surprised by the parent company's decision to quit publishing one of them. With the trend apparently getting away from published magazines to electronic/digital versions, I believe it is only matter of time before all publications will give way to digital versions.

I think it is going to be a hard sell at $100 a year $9.95 per month.
I imagine the first year will have a lot of excitement and people jumping in. But with our busy life schedules I think this will wane fairly quickly.

I know when Wood magazine first came out I read the copy 5 times cover to cover, but now over the years it is just one of my bathroom time passers.

Wish them luck and I hope they are able to do what they envision and I hope it is a success.

I have subscribed to their youtube site.

"360-Woodworking is Open" .... well, sorta

Well, like Ed in Tampa said.....
It's going to be a hard sell at $100/year or $9.95/month.

I got a notice that the "Premier" issue was released about the first of the month. I've downloaded it and looked at articles online. I can't make myself spend that amount of money for a magazine subscription.

Here's a link to the "Premier" issue:
