Again. please excuse the mess!!

The first two pictures are of the INCRA table set in between the main and aux tables and yes I know its on the wrong side,:rolleyes: but this was just to test for fitment ideas since the table is 21" wide ergo will not fit without trimming.

The first picture shows the table setting on the bars with a bracket provided from INCRA for attachment and a piece of 3/4" MDF to sho the nearly perfect height match,

The arrow points to a small do which is where the table needs to be trimmed to fit within the 20" gap

This picture is of a piece that can be secured to the bottom of a board which has already been cut to receive a router plate. This is used to level a router plate. It comes with a bunch of leveler screws but it is difficult to see the holes where they go. I had originally intended to try to attach this to the bottom of a SS main table (that project is no longer), I still think this would be a viable alternative, but 510 tables are too expensive to keep mangling.

PS, the butchered SS table insert is the beginnings of a ZCI holder (which is quickly becoming more work than it saves!!:o )

Thanks Ben, This has given me some food for thought. I think I have the makings for a home brew, including some extra 520 rails. I saw a nice woodpecker plate for $100. That plus the router would put me right about what I would have paid for just the SS table.

Which table are you using? The Pro Fence System Router Table appears to be thicker. But the size of the Triton might still be a problem.

I think a call to the mother ship is in order.

No, I don't have the Pro Fence router table.....was just wanting you to check to see if the Triton would actually fit. Looks like you're on a different track with your exchanges with Ben.....

I have router table 555995 (without the ProFence) and I am quite satisfied with both it and the table insert.

Even though a router hangs under the table continuously, both have remained flat for these several years.

I use a Sears plunge router under this table. If I need to use that router for other than under table routing, I simply remove the insert.

If you are planning to hang the table over the way tubes (between an extension table and the main table) you'll want to verify that there is adequate clearance. It will be close depending on which router you choose.

I am sorry Dusty that I wasn't more specific. The plate held up fine. It seems to be strong phenolic and never did sag, however the insert rings stopped holding after a while. The person I was working with (who happened to be from Iowa and maybe that's why is chose Woodhaven?) liked the idea of the snap in inserts but for what ever reason the retaining portion, or more specifically the mating edges, wore very quickly. I will say in Woodhaven's defense they were great about warranty. They sent new rings and a plate twice within a year at no cost not even shipping . In the end, he switched to Kreg (at least for a while - I stopped helping in his shop shortly after and he is no longer making sawdust so I don't have any further info)
If I had my druthers I would have the SS table. The idea of using the rail system to hold the table seems ideal. Just not in the budget.

I do find it curious that SS went with Woodhaven rather than INCRA. , but then that's' just me.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention Dusty. It does seem that when the table is at a reasonable height to use the saw, the attached router table would be too low to accommodate the Triton.

Will the 521963 router fence fit / work on the standard 510 / 520 main table?

I'm thinking Mk7 under table routing and / or a modified 510 / 520 main table with a router mounted under the table (which I am in the process of attempting. ) and adding the use of this fence.

As always other options / ideas are ALWAYS welcomed.

I’ve been watching ebay and CL to no avail. Looks like I’ll be getting new.

I already have the router fence 521963. It came new-in-box with the 520 I got from CL. Don’t know why the guy had the fence and not the table.

For a router, I’m wanting something in the 3hp range because I’m going to be using some larger cutters for raised panels, and custom trim.

I like the Triton TRA001. http://www.rockler.com/triton-3-1-4-hp- ... nge-router But I thought I’d check with you fellows for any recommendations before I pull the trigger.

I believe that 521963 Router Fence is a 520 specific item i.e. it will not work on a 510 table system without major modification.

Remember - we are a wood working community. It is quite possible to build your own router table system to work on/with whatever other system you have in your shop.

I've been hesitant to join in as I don't call myself an expert on routers. That said, I have been very happy with my Porter Cable 893 PK. It is 2 1/4 hp and does everything I've asked of it.

I've been very happy with it. It is simple to attach to the shopsmith and is light enough to be carried over to it's storage place. It mounts just like any SPT. The metal fences that come with it can be attached to wood to make a usable fence - however mine have never been used. I made another fence that was easily mounted to the table. All the home made fence needed was a couple holes and inserts into the table.

The table is very flat and is also extremely slick when waxed.

The two halves of the 521963 are designed to attach to the top tracks of a 520 or M7 pro fence.
