As I said (or implied) earlier in this thread, I do not understand the hype over 10ER tubes. Yes, I know that they are thicker thus more stout and may be less susceptible to vibration but those characteristics would be an improvement for my Mark V Model 520 as well.

I also do not understand why, if the tubes are so much more precious, why does the market price reflect that.

I might not cut them but I would not hesitate for a moment to use them on my Mark V.

The reason for the gasping sounds re cutting them is as Skou has often said, "They ain't making them any more". And they are somewhat scarce.

Also thicker means more difficult to cut. :rolleyes:
