I suspect in a few years because of the tablets and apps personal computers will evolve into what most people want, information/entertainment source that requires no knowledge of computers to maintain and use.

Seriously I never thought I would ever say this but since getting this tablet i'm seeing less and less need for a computer. Right now the only thing I can see is if you had to input a large text, or an abnormally large spreadsheet.

For checking the mail, reading forums, surfing the Internet a tablet more than fills the bill.

If you don't own one you owe to yourself to check it out. Plus since there is no fan, no air vents tablets are fantastic for in the workshop.

Maybe some day(never say never!), but I hate screens with finger prints all over it.

Get yourself a microfiber cloth and wipe the prints off or use a stylus and don't get them in the first place.

Get yourself an android tablet. I think Android is written like Linux.

I resisted Apple tooth and nail until I realized they were offering me what I really wanted not what I thought I wanted using techniques and methods of the past.

That is a harsh lesson to learn but once I realized the answer it was like a light coming on and me sitting back and saying of course that is how it should be done.

Do not under estimate the techies at Microsoft and Apple they have thought of things I would have probably stumbled upon 5 years from now if ever. They are clever guys and they share their cleverness with us.
