Why is it that these two set screws need to be covered up? Is it because they are right there on top where they can be readily seen? Once they have been accessed, for whatever reason, I see no reason why they need to be reburied.
Whatever you do, make certain that you properly seat the allen wrench in the set screw before attempting to remove it. You do not want to strip out the set screw.

FWIW, there are three!
None of mine are reburied.

Yup, that is three but there has never been ackempucky in the collar set screw on my Mark Vs.

Yep, same here. My collar has never been plugged and as a result, about ever 20th time I go to remove the saw blade or drill chuck, I loosen the wrong set screw. Maybe I should fill it with something
.

The quill that came with my powerpro upgrade did not come with the collar filled. I don't know if it is no longer done or just missed in my case.
In any case once I remove it I never refill it. I could see how someone might mix up the quill one but the other two have to be more a more intentional effort.
Any others gotten a new quill in the last couple of years and was the collar setscrew covered or not?

I ordered one on 08/04/08 and it DIDN'T come with collar setscrew covered.
