I figured out why square nuts: to teach Paul patience. Nearly 50 years of hex nuts made for a lot of habits to hold in check while reassembling scrollsaw legs.

Somewhere I read that Rolls Royce was a LONG TIME holdout on going to hex-nuts. They thought square nuts were better. I'll have to find where I read that....
