Now with the C head stock, the only change was to change the switch hole to accept the shape of a different switch. To me that's a very minor change.
The 'original' question was "what model is this". As you correctly note the table systems determine the 'model', not the headstock. Therefore a headstock made prior to 2010 says nothing re the model being 500 or 505 . . .
I agree the B to C headstock was a minor change(albiet a good one) that also has nothing to do with 500...520.
Mark V production has not ceased (AIUI) so the Power Pro stuff that appeared after 2010 does not determine the 'model' either.
My only reason for the earlier 'comment' was that all "headstocks prior to 2010" were not model specific(500).
