Here is what a fast motorcycle and phone can do.
The driver of the car was on the phone. Driver of car, passenger in the car and motorcycle rider all dead at scene. Pictures are now being used by Safety Officals to show what driving and phones can do. Not sure someone shouldn't also show this to Pocket Rocket Motorcycle nuts that travel at high speed on roads. Estimated speed of bike 85, car left turn in front of it.

During my aging years, one of the most difficult driving challenges I've found is judging the closing time of on-coming traffic when making a left hand turn. Especially when the speed limit is 55 MPH. This is a challenge that gave me no problem in my younger years.
It sure helps when there is a traffic light with green arrows.
To try to make a left turn in front of on-coming traffic while distracted is asking for a big problem.

Funny you mention that Charlese, I know of an old woman that plans her shopping routes with only right hand turns or left ones at a lighted/arrowed intersection only. Cant wait

I have spent most of my adult life as a cabinet maker and an ER nurse. Has always been my contention that part of a learner permit should be to spend a Fri or Sat night in the local trauma center. It would definitely leave an impression. Very politically incorrect but it would most definitely open their eyes.
