Thanks Rick, I'll have to check my finals schedule and class schedule to see if I can make a class in Ashland, Bend, or Reno.
SWMBO could also use it as a chance to check out Ashland. I found it to be a beautiful and interesting town last summer.

The above link shows classes in Bend and Portland. Portland 528-5/30 and Bend 6/1-6/3 and Ashland 6/24-6/26.

The link gave me an error (there must be a required cookie) but when I did another search I got it. Thanks I am signed up for the Portland Wood Turning class.

Hi Rick,

Any idea when you will be making it back to Central California?
Also, to comment on a earlier post, maybe they should change it from "Spouse can attend for free" to "Guest can attend for free". Maybe you can get more new owners that way. Just a thought.

[quote="ricknwood"]Hey guys,
If you want to see where I will be and when, go to this site:

Rick,

going to the page that you suggest just shows us how much we should appreciate Tim doing this thread. (thank you, Tim)

perhaps ShopSmith should consider just how insulting that page is to the customers not in the lucky states. we keep getting pointers telling us to go to this site to see when the TA is coming to our area. for 46 of the 50 states, the search comes up empty. yet we are defaulted to looking for classes coming to a site within 50 miles of our zipcode or to picking our state. ShopSmith doesn't even have the courtesy of putting on that page that owners east of the Mississippi need not waste their time looking. it takes a while to find this forum and learn that there is only one TA instructor and that the TA no longer crosses the Appalachians.

at the very least, ShopSmith (you) should consider taking out the states in the pull down that will not be receiving visits from the TA in the next 2 or 3 years.

even better would be to put a list of the states with scheduled visits at the top of the page.

just some thoughts from an owner in Virginia tired of having my hopes raised.

I spoke to Rick Friday at his Portland class (which my son and I loved) and he said he plans on doing on the East coast after completing the events scheduled. I think he mentioned Atlanta and I don't remember the other cities.

I agree the site needs work, and a simple list would be better given there is one Rick and how few places get visited.
