1963 and still going strong. However the 'current' ones are not as durable IMHO.
Proper hub alignment is critical(also IMHO).

By current ones do you mean the white ones as opposed to the original Magna ones with the metal ends and rubber (rubber I guess,I have never seen one) in between? Is your 63 white? If so, what is the difference between the older white ones and the current white ones?
If the old ones last two lifetimes and the current ones last one lifetime I guess that qualifies as less durable but does it really matter?
As for alignment, I don't think there is any opinion involved. It is a fact that hub alignment is critical.

The Greenie vintage were rubber with metal ends.
My 1963 Goldie came with a 'zytel' 'nylon' coupler. Yellowish color. Touted as being 'indestructable'.
SS Inc. uses a different plastic. Almost pure white. Much softer.

OK, I don't know if I have ever seen a yellowish one but maybe I just didn't notice. I will have to pay attention now that I know there is a difference.

Avy Idea what vintage this one is? It is on eBay. I have never seen one like it.

That looks like the ones I have except that it has what looks to be a label on it. The part number (505631) crosses to the current power hub making me believe it is an original Shopsmith part.
