The early speed controls were calibrated 0 to 8. The center sliding sheave had straight sides that allowed the belt to go into the pulley all the way to the shaft. That extra 'penetration' required a longer scale(0 to 8). It turned out that that was excessive and the later ones have a shoulder on the sliding center sheave that limits the 'penetration' of the belt. Thus the range was reduced to 0 to 5. The 'numbers'(0 to 5) are located the same on both versions so there is a lot of 'empty' space above the '5'.ventrac4231 wrote:JPG
I looked at the indicator plate reads 0 to 5. If you don't mind my stupidity what is the difference between the 0 to 5 and the 0 to 8? I already have the legs out of electrolysis and . and a bunch of stuff already done. This 10ER is a cool machine
