Nothing plugged in. I'm picking up the machine on Tuesday and won't have anything to plug in until then.
I found this jointer on Craig's List and worked out a deal. This will solve my jointing of larger pieces for a while.

I hope you (1) have help to move it and (2) a ground floor shop.
I have the six inch Grizzly jointer and while I had help getting it into my van, the only way I could get it out of my van and into my basement was by taking it apart in the van. Even then it was heavy moving the tables.

Yea, I know: BUT I have a plan.
The jointer is supposed to weigh in at around 500 lbs. The place I am picking it up has a loading dock and the owner says we can get it on the truck with no problem. Once I get it home, my shop is in the basement. When I built the house I had an overhead door installed. Plenty of room to get the jointer through.
My neighbor runs a wrecker service so I'll have him bring a tow truck. We'll use some lifting straps to lift it off the truck and set it on the concrete floor just inside the door. It has a mobile stand so I should be good from there.

I also hope it measured half that to 'ground' from each 'hot'.
#12 is quite adequate.

It did because I checked.
