Mine also has that hole. I have tried to "use" it with the blade holder but I have yet to figure out a way that it makes sense.

My first guess is (because it is a square hole) it is a mount for the "Bandsaw circle cutter. But now that there is two of them ---??????

Yes, SS made that hole. My Teal stand alone has it and it is in the pictures in the SS catalog. It is for holding the blade holder but my wife (she is the scroll sawyer) never uses it. She installs the blades directly on the machine.

Yep, that hole is a factory hole! Take a look at the exploded view, here: http://www.shopsmith.com/service/scroll ... iagram.htm

So, where can I purchase a new drive belt for my stand alone SS Scroll Saw?

It is now needing one. I see that there is nothing listed, for a drive belt, for this Scroll Saw. Please advise!

It looks like a large rubber O-Ring. It measures in at 5 inches!

Or do I have to retro-fit it with a vacuum cleaner belt?

I am hoping it means the online scroll saw stuff is 'incomplete'! ;) i.e. the stand alone model fell through the crack and is actually supported.
