I don't know what is going on.

All I do know is, that this fellow is NOT slowing down. I will do whatever it takes, to keep my production on an even keel!

No use tearing it down now. It must continue to work.

I now know that the quill feed spring is needing replaced. There is zero spring back and or tension when that assembly is turned.

I do remember that it flew out of my hand, when I was trying to reassemble the quill.

These three part numbers refer to springs: 5004196, 504228, 513089. Along with, the nylon insert, with a part #514083. I guess I will just order all four.

I am confused. (my usual state) I went to open the link above and all I get is a you tube page with a great big "!" . and I can't see any content. Anyone know why?

Actually, one of those numbers (513089) is a washer (spring washer) but a washer.

If you are going to include all the "springs" in your order, you still have a little bit of work to do. By my count, there are about 45 different locations where springs are used.

The spring is only available with the housing pn 521875.

SS does not think we are capable of installing the spring into the housing. Probably accurate 99 44/100 % of the time.

If you did get a complete assembly, you would still have to reattach it to the quill feed shaft. I believe you need to do that with what you have now.
