Kind of skewing this away from the true target, however...
A friend who was big time in to bicycle racing took the bootle holders from bikes after they became too loose (wouldn't hold the bottle as tight as he wanted) and attached them to lawn chairs, out door furniture and such. Even a couple on his work benches.
That might be a way to have a flat top table and still keep the glasses from succumbing to Mother Nature's whims. Using just one screw to attach it would allow for the table to tilt and still do a reasonable job, I presume.
