Bandsaw trunnion assembly, and cracked connector

I was looking at the bandsaw trunnion on the cover side, trying to figure out how to get the bolt out without removing the wheel, when I noticed... I don't have a trunnion support on that side. (contrary to my previous post)

I wonder how much that is making the adjustment jerky.

I am surprised that you can even tilt the table without a trunnion support. For the small, small price of about $4.00 (plus shipping) you can have a new trunnion support and be amazed at how much nicer your bandsaw table tilts.

If you do place an order, you might want to buy a couple of the specified bolts and nuts too.

If you do that, be careful to not go anywhere near that while rotating. The 'bump' will gitcha! I would not do that.

Maybe some of that 'speed tape' they tape airplanes with.

Well, I called SS, and talked to the lady about the parts list and all... I ordered the screw and bolt, trunnion support, nuts and washers. And a connector and two blades.

That was Wednesday morning. I asked how long it might take, she said 5-7 business days. Friday morning, a package arrived. I was impressed. Except one blade and the hardware was backordered

I put the one blade on, the 1/2 inch. Tried a cut. Yeah, the old one was seriously dull. The new one, like hot knife through butter. And no burning.

The left was done with the old blade, the right with the new.

Two cuts, one burned, with dull blade, one nice and clean, with new blade.

Now, what to do with the old blade, can that go in the recycling. It's a bit sharp, but... not really.
