After reading the previous 5 posts, it would seem yours is not the same as in the last pix.
So it is likely an adapter for something else. Guitar? Not likely!
With internal threads, a SS arbor adapter is unlikely.

It looks like a spindle adaptor. I'd bet 3/4 inch to 1"... I have one just like it that adapts 1" to 1 1/4" that allows me to use a lathe chuck on my Delta or my Powermatic. Save you money by not having to but additional chucks (But we all want additional chucks, don't we?
)...

Maybe I wasn't too clear about the adapter. here is a photo of how it is used with the chuck so it can be used on a SS

Looks like, at first glance, like a lens for a 16mm movie camera!

They also made a version to fit the Shopsmith or any 5/8" shaft, no adapter required. Quite compact with little overhang. Here is mine (sorry for the blurry pic)sitting in the lid of the plastic tool box I keep it in:

Dont know, but have found many non SS stuff in the parts box when buying a used SS that was non related to SS!!!!!
