Re: Shopsmith scroll saw
Three excellent reasons, thanks JP! Anything else come to mind?
Re: Shopsmith scroll saw
Larger table than most, deeper throat than most, SS quality, parts, support, quality. Oh, did I mention quality from a proven manufacturer.tomsalwasser wrote:I see John's wife loves her SS scroll saw, and Dusty loves his too. I'm interested in one. Can you tell me what are the things that make it a superior tool when compared to other less expensive scroll saws? Thanks for your thoughts.

Besides, I found nine, sorry hers, on a local TV channel classified listing and it was pristine. Just like new and it is the newer Teal colored one. $125.00

You stole that one John. They go for almost a grand new from SS.
Speaking of colors, do you know if the older gray model is the same as the newer teal model except for the color?

I think the current Teal ones come with the upgraded blade clamping system. The newer blade clamping system is available as an upgrade kit however. I also think there has been differences in the table over the years.tomsalwasser wrote:You stole that one John. They go for almost a grand new from SS.
