Everything is relative. Relative to, how much money comes into each household. Well let me just say this... no money has come into this home, since, Feb 2014.

So, your reasonable offer, is not reasonable to me. The 'only' thing that my head stock truly needs is, the spring housing assembly replaced. And 'maybe' the sleeve bearing. Everything else, is either newer than 1978 or I have already replaced it. My belts, are good, my on/off switch works perfectly, my motor runs like a champ, my quill has been updated, by previous owner, to a double bearing quill and this unit, has not seen use, in 10+ years. Plus, this Mark V was kept in an inside room of a basement, with a dehumidifier running constantly.

This house, was so clean I swear you could eat off the floors and WOW was it RETRO... 1950's style and colors. His son, still lives there and he just loves Retro.

If so, send it to me and I will 'fix' it and return it to you.

If it is the quill return spring all those washers and wingnuts etc. can stay with you. Only the shaft, spring housing and spring need travel.

Tie a string on the 'switch side' shaft so as to capture the domed washer as the shaft is removed so that total teardown will not be required later. ;)

Be careful to not lose the sleeve and woodruf key.
I will try and accomplish this tear down, in a couple days or maybe over the weekend. If I can, I will get back to you.

This is so nice of you, I sure do appreciate it!

I just learned, that I might need rotator cuff surgery. If so, then everything will be put to bed in my shop, for 3 to how ever many months, for rehabilitation... Sad, very sad!!!

UPDATE: I had an MRI done on my right shoulder today and in case anyone ever tells you, that an MRI is a breeze, just tell them to SHUT IT!

Here was what I experienced: Oh just so you understand, to stay completely motionless for 45 long minutes, while laying flat on your back, with dagger stabbing you, into your flesh, if that is easy... sorry, NOT SO. Oh how happy I was, when they came in and said 'ok, you are done' My shoulder was aching like a !@#$

It was not the claustrophopic issues, it was the fact, that the table was like laying on granite!

EM,
been there. I needed a brain scan. So the head had to be held still for 45 minutes.

So we get there for the appointment. They have two MRI machines. One larger, one smaller. They go to put me in the smaller machine because the larger one is in use. My head is in a cage. They go to slide me in, and I don't fit. My shoulders hit the side and derailed their bed slide. But in that 60 seconds, I am like, this isn't happening. LOL Yes I will say that I am claustrophobic now.

So they rescheduled for a different MRI machine. And they gave me a sedative. The only way that was going to happen.....

And they found out? Nothing on what was giving me issues, but they did find out that I have stuff happening in my head backwards..... Seriously. So at least I have a medical reason! LOL
