The back is made from a top, bottom, and 2 side pieces. Each piece is cut on the bandsaw using a using a circle cutter and a beam. I glued up 2 8/4 oak boards for one glue seem. I got lucky with the grain match. you could also use a large turning block. How is the curved back made? I couldn't see any laminations, but it looks pretty large for cutting (the arc) on a SS bandsaw.

Sweet! After you explained how it was done, I can find the lamination seam on the right side. But not on the left side, even though I know where it has to be.
