I also have a matching Magna band saw setup with 1957 greenie.

The photos of the older versions with Bill's description is indeed correct. The roller was a hard rubber and had a groove worn into it.

I ordered the package of band saw bushings from him a year or so ago and modified my Magna unit .......... also adding a dust collection port at the same location the newest covers have one located. Also, fitted Styrofoam into the cavities such as JPG had shown at one time. I love the tool and use it all the time.

One of these days I will take some photos - the greenie with band saw is also shortened so that the 12" disk sander with greenie saw table also runs when the unit is turned on ......... have the optional dust collection chute for sanding disk mounted so one tube with "Y" connection does a good job of dust collection from either function on that machine.

The Styrofoam, that's a new one on me. Is that to keep the sawdust from filling those nooks and crannies?

Yes.

I originally used butcher paper(first on the planer) and then the rattle can styrofoam was a derivative of that.
